ABOUT THE PROGRAMME
Diploma in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) is aimed at developing proficiency in the English language encompassing the areas of listening, speaking, reading, and writing; enhancing students’ linguistic competence and performance; empowering their knowledge and skills to perform as an effective TESL practitioner; developing their appropriate personal attitudes, characteristics, qualities, habits and interpersonal skills; and promoting their awareness of cultural differences.
Upon completion of the programme, students are expected to be able to possess, apply and demonstrate an advanced level of linguistic competence; demonstrate and operate as an effective and efficient TESL practitioner; possess and demonstrate the qualities of having high market values suited to the demands of the industry; and be sensitively responsive socially as well as professionally.

Minimum Requirement :
Passed SPM or its equivalent with at least THREE (3) credits in any subject including Bahasa Melayu AND English Language;
OR
Passed the Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) or equivalent, with at least a grade C (CGPA 2.0) in any subject or equivalent;
OR
Passed the Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with a minimum grade of Maqbul or equivalent;
OR
Passed Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) Level 3 and passed SPM with ONE (1) credit;
OR
Other qualifications that are equivalent.
