Associate Professor Dr. Muhamad Nizam Jali is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research and Innovation, Universiti Poly-Tech Malaysia. Previously he is the Dean of Institute of Graduate Studies, UPTM. Assoc. Prof. Dr Muhamad Nizam graduated with a Bachelor (Hons) in Corporate Administration from UiTM, Shah Alam Malaysia. He possesses his Master of Science in Accounting and PhD in Accounting from Universiti Utara Malaysia, Sintok Kedah. He was awarded the Anugerah Pendidik MARA in 2022 for his achievement and contribution in his fields of study i.e. Good Governance Knowledge Management, Knowledge Transfer, University-Industry-Community Knowledge Transfer Partnership.  Prior joining UPTM, he has served Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) for 13 years as an Internal Auditor and Assistant Director and Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) as a lecturer for the duration of 3 and a half years. He has vast experience in management, teaching and research works.

He is the author and co-authored of over 30 papers in Index and Refereed Journals within the fields of Social Innovation, Good Governance, Business and Knowledge Management. He has successfully supervised 3 PhD and 15 Master students to completion. Assoc. Prof. Dr Muhamad Nizam also serves as the reviewer for a number of journals among other, Journal of Information and Knowledge Management.  He also led a team of researchers and professional service teams who have secured external research grants from industry and government agency. His research and professional services focus on Social Innovation and Green Initiatives Program.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhamad Nizam has more than 20 years of comprehensive experience in the industry, academic and research environment. He has held a variety of positions over the years, including those of researcher, lecturer and administrator. Having worked in a variety of academic capacities, his ultimate goal is to advance the translation and transformation of university-research ideas for the benefits of community, industry and economy as a whole.
