Dr. Zahrah Yahya, currently an Associate Professor at Universiti Poly-Tech Malaysia (UPTM), earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science in 2016. She currently serves as the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic and Internationalization at UPTM. Her research focuses primarily on Artificial Intelligence (AI), with a special emphasis on exploring the potential of machine learning in providing innovative solutions to complex problems across various domains. Dr. Zahrah's current research endeavours involve the integration of machine learning techniques with cutting-edge advancements in AI research to develop robust, efficient, and reliable AI systems for solving structural damage issues. Her work aims to create systems capable of learning from structural damage data and making predictions based on the acquired model. In addition to her research interests in AI, she is also passionate about the intersection of AI and virtual reality, seeking to enhance the human experience and enable engineers to interact more immersively when detecting structural damage.

Dr. Zahrah's professional expertise has been formally recognized, earning her the title of Professional Technologist (Ts) from the Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT) in 2017, with specialization in Information and Computing Technology. She is also a Chartered Management Institute (CMI) fellow since 2020. She has been actively engaged in a range of academic and professional pursuits. She was appointed to the Women in Engineering Panel on Career Advancement for Early Researchers, Entrepreneurs, and Academicians in Engineering Sectors, organized by Universiti Malaya and Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), India. Her contributions to the field have been further demonstrated through keynote speeches, including her presentation at the 4th International Conference on Agricultural Technology, Engineering, and Environmental Sciences (ICATES 2022) on the Application of Machine Learning in Detecting Damaged Structures. Dr. Zahrah's research findings have been disseminated through publications in reputable journals such as the Journal of Information Processing and Management (Web of Science, Q1), the Journal of Automotive and Mechanical Engineering (Web of Science, Q3), and several SCOPUS indexed journals.
