                                    2740. GENERAL RULES(a) Female student residences are prohibited areas for male students, and vice versa.(b) If a student is allocated a room, the student is not allowed to move to any other room without  written approval from the residence management.(c) Students must comply with instructions to vacate or move rooms if requested by the residence  management.(d) No one is permitted to enter or be present in a room occupied by a resident student except for the student themselves. However, this clause does not apply to university staff carrying out their  duties or responsibilities, or anyone authorised by or on behalf of the university.(e) Additionally, this clause should not be construed as prohibiting a student from entering the  room of a resident of the same gender for ordinary social visits.(f) Students are prohibited from doing anything that defaces, dirties, or causes damage to any part of the university%u201fs residence, its areas, buildings, or any items or equipment within them.(g) Students may be fined for any loss or damage to facilities based on the specified penalty rate.(h) Students will be charged or surcharged for any loss or damage to facilities based on the cost  of repair or replacement.41. SPECIAL RULES(a) Students are not allowed to be outside the university%u201fs residence area after 12:00 midnight without  permission from the residence management.(b) Students are not permitted to loiter in the university%u201fs residence area between 12:00 midnight  and 6:00 a.m.(c) Students are not allowed to enter or leave the university%u201fs residence area without permission  from the residence management.(d) Students are not permitted to stay overnight outside the university%u201fs residence from Monday to  Friday except in cases of emergency and with approval from the residence management.(e) Students are allowed to stay overnight outside the university%u201fs residence on public holidays,  provided they obtain permission from the residence management.(f) Students are permitted to leave personal belongings in the provided locked cabinets (if available)  during the mid-semester break unless otherwise directed by the university.Student Handbook and Disciplinary Regulations of Universiti Poly-Tech Malaysia
