1714. STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE COUNCIL (SRC)(a) The University Board may establish regulations for conducting elections to the SRC and for all matters related to it..(b) The election of the SRC by students shall be as determined by the University Board from time to time.(c) The SRC shall elect from among its members a President, a Vice President, a Secretary, and a Treasurer, each of whom shall hold only one position.(d) Members of the SRC and its officeholders shall be elected to serve for one academic year.(e) SRC decisions shall be made by a majority vote, with no less than two-thirds of the members present and voting..(f) The SRC may, from time to time, with prior written approval from the Vice-Chancellor, appoint ad hoc committees from among its members for specific purposes or objectives.(g) No student who is involved in unresolved disciplinary proceedings, or who has been found guilty of a disciplinary offence, may be elected or remain as a member of the SRC or as an office holder of any student body or committee, unless permitted in writing by the Vice-Chancellor.(h) A student will be disqualified from being elected in the election if: (i) They have yet to attend their first university examination for their course of study. (ii) They have failed, or failed to attend, the most recent university examination for their course of study immediately prior to any proposed nomination or election to the SRC.(i) The objectives and functions of the SRC: (i) To foster a corporate lifestyle among students; (ii) To organise and supervise, subject to the Vice-Chancellor%u201fs directives, student welfare facilities at the university, including recreational facilities, spiritual and religious activities, and the provision of food and beverages; (iii) To make representations to the Vice-Chancellor on all matters relating to or connected with the living and working conditions of students;Student Handbook and Disciplinary Regulations of Universiti Poly-Tech MalaysiaPART III STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE COUNCIL AND STUDENT ASSOCIATIONS%ufffd
