159. PUBLISHING, POSSESSING, AND DISTRIBUTING DOCUMENTSNo student may publish or possess any document, banner, placard, poster, emblem, or any other material or means, whether in printed or digital form, that could encourage acts of indiscipline, cause disturbances, defiance, or violate any established university regulations.10. UNIVERSITY PROPERTY(a) Every student is responsible for the safety of university property. Any student who damages or causes damage to university property, areas, or any equipment has committed a disciplinary offence. The university reserves the right to claim compensation based on current market value without requiring a hearing for the student involved.(b) In the event that damage occurs in a residential unit and no admission of guilt or cooperation is received from the students, subject to sub-clause 10(a), the university reserves the right to hold all residents of the unit accountable for the damage.11. CONFIDENTIALITY(a) Students must always maintain the confidentiality of the university%u201fs sensitive information and that of its members throughout their period of study.(b) Confidential information may include, but is not limited to, matters such as trade secrets, proprietary information, customer information, customer lists, methods, plans, documents, data, rawings, manuals, notebooks, reports, models, discoveries, formulas, processes, software, information systems, contracts, negotiations, strategic planning, proposals, business partnerships, and training materials.(c) Students are also prohibited from disclosing personal information about university members, particularly other students and staff, such as medical, family, financial, social, behavioural, or any other personal or confidential information, unless required by applicable law or legal process.(d) Any act of disclosing or releasing, whether verbally, in print, or digitally, any confidential information of the university or its members is considered a violation under this regulation.(e) The university, however, reserves the right to share student information with third parties, including government bodies, law enforcement agencies, or any parties with an understanding with the university, for the benefit of students, such as providing assistance, offering job opportunities, or facilitating further education opportunities.Student Handbook and Disciplinary Regulations of Universiti Poly-Tech Malaysia
