116.2 Categories of sexual harassment:(a) %u201cSexual exploitation%u201d refers to actions or attempts that abuse trust, differences in status, and imbalances of power toward another individual for sexual purposes, including benefits not only in financial, social, and political aspects derived from such sexual exploitation.(b) %u201cSexual abuse%u201d refers to physical actions with sexual elements, either through actual acts or threats, which may involve the use of force or occur in situations where there is an imbalance of status or coercion.(c) %u201cSexual assault%u201d refers to actions, threats, or attempts to physically touch or come into contact with another individual's body; actions that involve forcing someone to engage in sexual acts/activities or forcefully removing another person's clothing. The conduct of sexual assault as described here is not limited to the examples mentioned. (*Rape/sexual intercourse/molestation are criminal offences under police jurisdiction.)6.3 Forms of sexual harassment include:(a) VerbalVarious forms of verbal harassment include the use of obscene language in conversations, stories, jokes, sounds, remarks, comments, compliments, or sexual questions directed at appearance, clothing, behaviour, body shape, or sexual activities, either expressed openly or in a more implicit (veiled) manner, which causes an individual to feel disturbed, humiliated, offended, uncomfortable, or threatened.Examples:%u2022 Words about appearance and body shape that are repeatedly mentioned with an intonation that causes discomfort.%u2022 Invitations or requests for sexual relations or activities.%u2022 Suggestions for intimate activities, even after being declined.%u2022 Verbal communication that causes discomfort due to intonation or sexual implications, whether conveyed explicitly or through word connotations.Student Handbook and Disciplinary Regulations of Universiti Poly-Tech Malaysia
